Will your favorite teams find themselves in the Main Stage of The International?”]
Forty-six teams will be clashing over the course of two weeks for a slot in The International. Eight teams for every one of the regions will battle for the one to three slots available in their respective regions. South America, an exception, will only have six teams competing as none of them received direct invites for the regional qualifiers. Thus, all of their participants are coming from the open qualifiers.
The regional qualifiers will come in two phases. Teams will be competing first in a Bo1 round robin. Teams will have an opportunity to play against everyone else in the region. The top four scorers of the round robin will advance to a double elimination playoff bracket. In North America, three teams will advance to The International. Two will be coming from China and SEA. Finally, a lone team from South America, CIS, and Europe will step into The International.
Roundup of Direct Invites
Valve invited a different number of teams for each of the six regions, with the exception of South America, which received none. In SEA, three teams were invited. In China, one, two in CIS and North America, and four from Europe. These teams are as follows:

Europe: Team Kinguin, The Final Tribe, Kingdra, Singularity Esports
