The Philippines will be taking part of the tenth Esports World Championship in Kaohsiung, Taiwan this coming November. As an esports league meant to find the best talent that every participating country has to offer, everyone will have the chance to prove their worth in this competition. TNC branches will be holding the national qualifiers for the Philippine team through the first few weeks of September. If you have the skills to take on the best in the world in League of Legends, CS:GO and Tekken 7, be sure to show up.

The Road to Kaohsiung starts with the qualifiers

The qualifiers for each game would be held differently. While League of Legends and Tekken 7 will have games on-site, CS:GO qualifiers will be held completely online. As the Kaohsiung World Championships will be held in Taiwan, all players participating are required to have passports.

The CS:GO qualifiers will start earlier than the other two games. The three phases of the qualifiers will be held on three consecutive days, from September 3, Monday, to September 5, Wednesday. The top teams of the tournament will be facing off in a Best of 3 series on September 7, Friday. Interested players will have to register through this link, where the rulebook and the link to the tournament’s Discord channel can also be found.

For League of Legends, there will be a LAN qualifier on Saturday, September 8. Four TNC branches, namely, TNC Bacolod, TNC R. Papa, TNC La Union and TNC General Santos, will be opening its doors to hopefuls. The tournament’s structure will be dependent on the number of final participants. The top four teams for each branch will be competing in a round robin format on the next day, held online. The top team coming through the interbranch tournament will represent the Philippines in Kaohsiung. Registration will be held on-site.

Finally, the Tekken 7 tournament will be held on September 9. Players are allowed to bring their own gears so they could fight in their best form. The qualifier will run its full course in one day. Players will also be registering on-site. The matches will be held in Ground Zero in Antipolo City.

The Kaohsiung World Championships 2018 will start on November 9 lasting until November 11. The International e-Sports Federation, or the IeSF, will be organizing the event. The IeSF has over 48 member nations, in which every country has the chance of hosting the World Championships. With events like the World Championships, IeSF aims to become the world’s first sports organization specifically for esports.
