Our country could use more esports events, and thankfully one particular organizer has been taking care of a whole genre all by itself. Enter Plus Attack PH, WASD Gaming’s largest endeavor into the esports scene thus far. The esports tournament originally debuted as a CS:GO event, with the promise of bringing back seven-digit prize pools to the Philippine CS:GO competitive scene. While the final prize pool of the CS:GO tournament has yet to be announced, that didn’t stop WASD Gaming from expanding their event to more and more games. With the addition of Overwatch and Rules of Survival, Plus Attack PH was already shaping up to be the country’s biggest FPS esports event ever. But their most recent announcement has just put a whole new level of competition into the event.
The Battlegrounds Invitational
The hit game PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has reigned supreme as Steam’s most played game up to now, even though the game has received a massive blow in its playerbase recently. This came after more polished battle royale games have emerged from the market, taking a huge chunk of PUBG’s numbers. However, PUBG remains popular amongst many players, and continues to be one of the most played games in the world right now.
As such, it’s not a big surprise that WASD PH would want to include PUBG in its portfolio of tournaments. It becomes the fourth game to be included in the tournament, and the second Battle Royale game to be added. Interested players could register through this link until September 27. Rules and match settings can be viewed through this link.
Of the four tournaments announced thus far, only the Overwatch ang PUBG tournaments have a set prizepool. Overwatch’s prizes total up to ₱60,000. PUBG eclipses this with a ₱100,000 prize pool, while the two other games’ prizes are yet to be determined. WASD PH vows to have at least seven digits for their CS:GO tournament, however the exact figures are not revealed by the organizers.
WASD Gaming’s Plus Attack PH FPS Apex 2018 will run from November 23-25 at the Cuneta Astrodome, Pasay City.
